James Fitzgerald
James Fitzgerald is a multi-award-winning Director and Writer from Ireland with a flare for dark drama and comedy in his work.
James graduated from The National Film school of Ireland with a major in drama directing and a minor in cinematography. His short film Skunky Dog went on to screen at some of the largest festivals around the world and pick up a string of prestigious awards including 3 Royal Television awards at the BFI and an IFTA nomination (Irish Film and Television Award). He was also selected for Future Frames - in association with Sundance and Variety Magazine as one of the Ten New European Filmmakers to watch. In 2021, his short film, The Invisible Boy, was long-listed for an Oscar, along with another IFTA nomination and a Young Director Awards shortlist at Cannes. His final short film, “BAD BOY BUCK”, which was funded by Screen Ireland, has just hit its festival run.
He directed commercials for brands such as the National Aid Trust, PointsBet, Tony Card, Subway, 48 Mobile and TG4 through global agencies Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy, JWT, and Publicis amongst others and music videos for record labels like Sony, Universal, Warner Brothers and Atlantic Records.
